The Siya crew has been led to believe that Mamelodi Sundowns are already planning to have long-serving goalkeeper Denis Onyango at the club beyond his playing days.
Indications are that the Ugandan goalkeeper could bring an end to his playing career at the end of the season, with his chances of getting regular game-time at Chloorkop decreasing the older he gets.
The Tshwane giants are known for giving their former players opportunities within the ranks, showing how they value the contribution they made during their playing days. The likes of Hlompho Kekana, Tiyani Mabunda, Teko Modise and Kennedy Mweene are part of Downs in different roles.
All of these ex-players were part of the 2016 CAF Champions League-winning side, making an impact throughout their time as players at the club. Onyango, who joined the side in 2011 from rivals SuperSport United, looks set to become the next one to be handed a role at the Brazilians, though it's unclear at this stage where he will fit in once he pulls the curtain on his playing career.
The veteran campaigner, who is going to turn 39 in May, has made two appearances in all competitions this season – one in the DStv Premiership and the other in the Champions League. An announcement on his next chapter is expected to be made at a later stage.
