As reported by the Siya crew, Sundowns have cast their eye on former Al Ahly coach Patrice Carteron as a potential candidate.
But, Siya sources have informed the crew that there are in fact three names shortlisted by the Brazilians, the second of which has since been revealed.
Esperance head coach Miguel Cardoso is the latest man sounded out by Sundowns.
Sundowns had an up-close view of the Portuguese manager when his Esperance side defeated them over two legs in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League semi-final, before going on to lose to Al Ahly in the final.
The coach also managed to win the Tunisian Premier League title.
Information reaching the crew's desk is that Sundowns are yet to make a formal approach for the 52-year-old, who is still contracted to the Tunisian giants.
A challenge for Downs in this regard is Esperance's desire to hold onto their coach, more especially with the FIFA Club World Cup coming up next year.
