Marumo Gallants are continuing to strengthen their squad ahead of their Premiership opening game against Kaizer Chiefs on the 14th of September, the Siya crew has been informed.
Now, Siya sources have indicated that Gallants are believed to be close to signing former Golden Arrows and Baroka FC defender Matome Mathiane.

The sources at the Bloemfontein-based club added that the former Arrows captain has been training with coach Dan "Dance" Malesela for about two weeks before he was recommended to be signed.
He is expected to receive a one-year contract with an option for an additional year.
"The coach knows him better. They worked together last season at Baroka and I don't think it was a hard and difficult decision to make. He is an experienced defender who will add value and stability to the team. They needed a player like him. I believe that's why he was invited for training and eventually signed for the team. I understand he has signed a one-year contract until June 2025 but with another one-year option which is performance related. If he does well this season they will automatically renew his contract for another year until June 2026. But the initial one is a one-year deal," the Siya source stated.

The 35-year-old was playing for Baroka FC under coach Dan Malesela last season, where he was a consistent performer.
When contacted for comment, Gallants' media officer Rufus Matsena could neither deny nor confirm the news.
"I don't know if we have signed him because the team is in Joburg and I am in Bloemfontein right now," Matsena told Soccer Laduma.
