'It Won't Be Difficult For Ox To Find A New Club'

'It Won't Be Difficult For Ox To Find A New Club'

With only a season at Kaizer Chiefs, former Stellenbosch FC midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa's future is now in question, according to insiders privy to information.

Siya sources close to the club have indicated that the arrival of Inacio Miguel, who can play both in defence and as a defensive midfielder, means that Mthethwa's role at Amakhosi isn't as crucial as it was.

The sources added that Mthethwa could be loaned out to create space for other players like Yusuf Maart, Samkelo Zwane, Edson Castillo, and Inacio himself.

The insiders stated that Chiefs are looking for teams that might want to take Mthethwa on loan and aim to settle a deal before the transfer window period closes at the end of this month.

"The technical team has listed down players who they feel should be loaned out since they still have standing contracts and one of them is Ox (Sibongiseni Mthethwa). For this season the coach has looked at the players who he would use in that position and he is not one of them. He wants to have a compact competitive squad and that's why he has listed some players to be loaned out," said the Siya source.

"You remember about Christian Saile and Wandile Duba as well, and also Zitha Kwinika. So Mthethwa is on that list for now," the source added.

A second source stated that there are two clubs that have already inquired about the services of the former Stellenbosch FC midfielder

"If he goes on loan then it won't be difficult for him to find a club as we already know the two clubs that have shown interest and inquired about his availability on loan if Chiefs want to loan him out," said the second Siya source.

"So all that remains now is the logistics from Chiefs on how they want to loan him out. And if they make that final decision there will be clubs waiting in the wings to take him on loan," the source added.

The 29-year-old joined Amakhosi on the 21st of September 2023, just a few days before the close of the transfer window period last season under coach Molefi Ntseki.

Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
