There has been significant interest in Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez from various clubs, but the PSL club has now received a substantial European offer that could be difficult to turn down.
According to Siya sources close to the player and Amakhosi, Portuguese side Vitoria SC have offered Chiefs R40 million for the former Stellenbosch FC striker.

The sources added that the Glamour Boys are currently considering the offer.
"Yes, I know we spoke about an offer and that the Sporting Director is the one working on that. Apparently, the Portuguese club has offered R40 million for Ashley (Du Preez)," said the Siya source.
"The way things are standing right now Chiefs are considering taking that offer so that they can use part of the money to sign some of the players that the club wants. I can't say it is a done deal yet but the offer is on the table as we speak and it's a substantial amount which is hard to resist," the source added.
A second insider stated that with the budget Chiefs have and the players they are looking to sign, this deal, if it goes through, it will help them fulfill their targets.

"They had been planning next season without Ashley already and that's why this deal would make sense to the club as it will help them strengthen their budget and sign those players on the wanted list. We know it's not as easy as it seems on paper but at least it's a great offer, which if it goes through, will help the team," the second source stated.
Vitoria SC are believed to be keen to finalise a deal as soon as possible, given that their season kicked off on August 12.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment, but received no response at the time of publishing.
