Kaizer Chiefs are not giving up on one of their top targets, Fiston Mayele, the DRC striker currently playing for Pyramids FC in Egypt, the Siya crew has been informed.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi were ready to make an initial offer to the Egyptian side but it was not sufficient to land Mayele.

Now, Siya sources close to both the club and the player have indicated that the Glamour Boys are believed to have made a much-improved second offer for coach Nasreddine Nabi's most wanted striker.
The insider added that the expected new offer is close to the R11.5 million that Pyramids would accept at this point and that they are willing to negotiate with any team offering close to that amount.
"For now he is the main target even more than Fawaaz (Basadien). They are looking at using most of the money that is remaining on getting him or at least a striker. Pyramids are believed to have lowered their price to at least R11.5m if Chiefs are ready to get the player," said the Siya source.
"But the offer from Chiefs is not yet reaching that amount but apparently it's much better than the first one and close to the requested price and it could prompt Pyramids to consider the current offer. It is around R10m now and they are putting the Mayele transfer as a priority even above Basadien or any left back. So things are looking promising though there is nothing finalised yet but the offer is good and could work out this time around," the insider stated.
A second Siya source stated that what could hinder the process and progress for a potential deal, would be the personal terms between the player and Amakhosi.

"He is one of the best paid players in Egypt and after finishing second in the top goalscorers (chart) in the just ended league in Egypt then his personal value could have increased and the demand would be high as well," said the second Siya source.
"That could be the difference and the deal blocker. If Chiefs can match or better what Pyramids are currently paying him then things could work out depending on the offer that the club wants from Chiefs. That's where the situation is so far," the second source added.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but the club didn't respond by the time this report was published.
If Amakhosi are able to meet the right price for Mayele, it remains to be seen if Pyramids would be willing to let such a good striker leave the club.
