There are whispers in the local football corridors that Sinesipho Mali could be edging closer to an exit from Sekhukhune United, possibly opening the door for a surprise return to Kaizer Chiefs.
Mali, who is Sekhukhune’s Head Scout and Technical Analyst, is believed to be considering stepping down from his role after playing a key part in Babina Noko’s impressive fourth-place finish in the Betway Premiership.

His work contributed to some players earning national team call-ups, further cementing his status as one of the brightest young minds in the South African game.
The Ngxwalane-born analyst, who was part of the Bafana Bafana technical team that secured a historic Africa Cup of Nations bronze medal, has earned plaudits for his innovative approach to performance analysis and his strong commitment to youth development.
With his previous stint at Chiefs still fresh in memory, speculation is growing that the Soweto giants could be considering bringing him back into the fold.
Adding fuel to the fire is Mali’s close professional and personal relationship with Chiefs’ current Head of Scouting and Recruitment, Thembela ‘Tera’ Maliwa – a respected figure at Naturena.

A source close to the situation told Soccer Laduma, “Mali’s return to Chiefs has never been ruled out. He’s still valued very highly at the club and remains in close contact with several key figures, especially Maliwa. Their relationship, both on a professional and personal level, has always been strong.”
While nothing is confirmed, the timing of his possible exit and his deep ties at Naturena are keeping the rumour mill turning.
