During the CUFA Cup against Marumo Gallants on Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs used new signing Inacio Miguel as their captain, even though the club's vice-captain Given Msimango started the game alongside the Angolan in central defence, while club captain Yusuf Maart started on the bench.
Msimango had come in because of the absence of Rushwin Dortley, however, even when Maart came in as a substitute, Miguel continued with the captain's armband, raising questions about whether he is now the club's new skipper.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, the players at the club consider Miguel as a leader and a future captain.
This is a sentiment echoed by insiders at the club who have indicated why Miguel was named the captain ahead of Msimango and Maart on Sunday.
The sources stated that the coach needed a leader on the pitch and felt that with the communication and understanding that Miguel has with the players, he was the right choice on the day.
"For now, the status quo remains the same. Yusuf Maart is the captain and Given Msimango is the vice captain. But on the field of play, Miguel is the leader. In the dressing room Miguel is the leader so on Sunday they decided to make him captain ahead of Msimango because they needed a true leader on the field and that's what Miguel provides and he guides the young players very well and can control the game from the back. But Maart and Msimango are still coming in as captains," the Siya source stated.

A second insider stated that coach Nasreddine Nabi, and the club, are grooming Miguel as a future captain.
"I think if he had arrived much earlier before the trip to Turkey then things could be different now. I think he could have been the captain. But since Maart is the captain now, then they are grooming Miguel for the future. He is experienced and they need his leadership skills both on the field and in the dressing room," the second source stated.
Since joining the club at the start of the season, the 28-year-old Angolan has been very impressive in his performances and how he represents Amakhosi.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment on the captaincy, but there was no response at the time of publishing.
