There could a possible a setback in Orlando Pirates' pursuit of an international player in this transfer window, the Siya crew has been alerted.
Pirates' pre-season tour of Spain is nearing, where the team is scheduled to play three competitive friendly matches between July 12 and July 19, and the club wants to leave no stone unturned in planning before leaving.

While fans and the football fraternity are waiting on the announcement of signings by the Soweto giants, the club has been strongly linked with Angolan international attacker Gilberto (Deivi Miguel Vieira), with sources indicating that talks have been ongoing about a possible deal.

"Pirates are serious in their interest in Gilberto and contact has been made this week and talks are ongoing," said the Siya source.
"The player is contracted to Petro in Angola until 2025, and while the club is willing to listen to offers, they are looking at cashing in on him and therefore they will go for the highest bidder. It's not clear if Pirates will be willing to match the R10 million asking price at this stage," the source added.
