Enocent Mkhabela Linked With Highlands Park Exit

Enocent Mkhabela

Four substitute appearances is all that Enocent Mkhabela has contributed so far in Highlands Park's stuttering Absa Premiership campaign, with indications that the former Kaizer Chiefs player's days could be nearing an end at the club.

The 30-year-old midfielder joined the Lions of the North in January last year, however, he has struggled for game-time under coach Owen da Gama throughout his stay with the club.

Following the the arrival of former Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama at Highlands, Mkhabela's future at the club does not look promising.

Mkhabela's contract with the Gauteng club is set to expire in June, and according to sources, he could be deemed surplus to requirements.

Meanwhile, Nyatama made his official debut for the side, replacing another veteran central midfielder in ex-Chiefs and SuperSport United man Reneilwe Letsholonyane, in the second half of their Nedbank Cup 2-0 win over GladAfrica Championship side Uthongathi last weekend.

Mkhabela was an unused substitute in that match.
