Sales Could Become Sundowns' Prime Striker Next Season

Sales Could Become Sundowns' Prime Striker Next Season

"There were some doubts about Sales before coach Cardoso arrived. But when he arrived he spoke with the player to understand him and we think the language also helped. They can both speak Portuguese and coach Cardoso has really saved Sales' career at Sundowns. If it wasn't for him we wonder if he could have been enjoying he stay as much as he is now. As things stand now, he is very safe and all thanks to coach Cardoso who understands him very well and knows how to use him," the insider told the Siya crew.

A second insider stated that with certain strikers linked with foreign interest and if they move next season, then the club can look to Sales to become a reliable and established figure at Sundowns.

"The club now believes that even if the other strikers who have attracted interest in Europe and the Middle East leave, then they have Sales as a reliable replacement who can take over the duties going forward from next season and it's coach Miguel Cardoso who has helped the player rise to the occasion and prove that he is Sundowns material," the second source stated.

Since joining Sundowns, the 22-year-old striker has participated in most games across all competitions, scoring goals and providing even more assists.

There were higher expectations for Sales but it takes time to adapt to a new league and country, so he could realise those targets next season.
