Despite having undergone a medical assessment with Belgian giants Standard Liege, there has been a massive twist in Lebo Mothiba's mooted move to the club.
It had been deemed a 'done deal' by those in the know.
The player is understood to have passed his medical and was well on his way to becoming a Liege player as he looked to continue his foray in Europe.
However in a shock twist, Mothiba's switch to Belgium has fallen through!

This according to Sacha Tavolieri, the same journalist who first broke the news of Mothiba's impending deal, confirmed that financial issues was the cause of the deal failing to materialise.
It is understood that Mothiba and Liege could not find common ground with regards to the player's package, which ultimately saw the deal come to an abrupt halt.
All indications are that Mothiba will continue his club search having parted ways with RSC Strasbourg at the end of the 2023/24 season.
