As he prepares his team for the CAF Champions League final, former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has been sent a beautiful message from the South African Football Association.
Mosimane's Al Ahly are scheduled to play against rivals Zamalek in an all-Egyptian Champions League final on Friday at Cairo International Stadium.
SAFA's CEO Tebogo Motlanthe has wished Mosimane the best of luck as he looks to add to his already impressive CV, with the former Bafana Bafana coach having previously won the Champions League with Sundowns in 2016.
"In normal circumstances, one is supposed to be neutral and enjoy the best club football on the continent, but the truth is I am rooting for Pitso (Mosimane) and Al Ahly to win this one. He is one of us and definitely am biased on where I want the CAF Champions League title to land – I would want to see Pitso and Al Ahly crowned African champions,'' said the CEO, speaking on SAFA's official website.
"To Pitso, I would like to say good luck and if you win the title on Friday, you would not only have made yourself and your family proud but the rest of South Africa. You are a true ambassador of the country and we are proud of you. Go and make us proud because we all love and admire your honesty and professionalism. You are a true champion," said Motlanthe.
