Mosimane finds himself in unfamiliar territory.
More often than not, his teams are at the top half of the table, competing for silverware and fighting to establish dominance over their opponents. His latest job however, is in stark contrast to that.
Rather this time, 'Jingles' has to save a club from relegation and the odds are heavily stacked against him to do so. Fortunately, Abha club are just five points away from getting out of the relegation scrap with 11 games to go, giving Mosimane ample time to ensure the club's safety.
The 59-year-old recently opened up on the situation the club find themselves in and outlined what exactly is required for the club to succeed in their bid to hold onto their topflight status.
"I'm not new in Saudi football because I was here with Al Ahli in the Yellow League. But I am new in Roshin league, in Roshin League, I only have three games. I don't have a lot of experience of Roshin League, all the teams that have very good eight foreigners inside the pitch have no chance to win. But it's not all that of course, you need to have a very good tactical, disciplined team," he said via the club's official website.
"You need to have a team that has a good physical condition, and you need to have a team. You know when they say team, they mean together. Everybody works together. You know, we work together. We need a team that that they respect the principles of the team. The team must have ethos, must know how they play, how they attack, how they defend, and everybody must respect those principles. Then you have a chance to do something here. The mentality must be right," he said.
Mosimane's next task comes in the form of 10th placed Al Wehda, a home fixture on 14 March.
