Pitso Mosimane has commented on the form of Al Ahly attacker Percy Tau, who is currently experiencing a domestic goal drought.
Despite starting the league like a house on fire with five goals in his first six games for the club, the goals have dried up for the 27-year-old in the Egyptian Premier League with his barren run stretching to five games.
He had a chance to get back onto the scoresheet on Wednesday evening but he missed from 12 yards out after his low shot cannoned off the upright, although Al Ahly managed to win the match 1-0 thanks to a solitary Luis Miquissone goal.
After the match, Mosimane addressed his concerns about Tau's performance in front of goal, although he has maintained his belief that his marquee signing will be able to turn things around.
"It's not all about that [missing the penalty]. Out of the four attacks in the second half, he looked like he could score or do something. Last week he had a one versus one with the goalkeeper and he blocked the ball. Today again, one on one the goalkeeper blocked the ball. So maybe next time he'll score," Mosimane told journalists.
"Although sometimes missing a penalty takes from your system," he added.
With their win on Wednesday, Al Ahly maintained their unbeaten start to the season, having won 10 out of the 11 league games they have played.
