Defeat is not a word often associated with coach Mosimane.
After all, the 59-year-old has made winning such a habit that it often makes headlines when he is on the wrong side of a scoreline like the one he suffered against Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
However, it seems that 2024 has been an ominous one for Mosimane in terms of results, as he suffered two of his five worst defeats in his managerial career in a matter of months.
We had to go back some nine years ago to 2015 to see when Mosimane suffered his heaviest defeat prior to that.
It was whilst on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns where he received a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Bloemfontein Celtic, a result which was his worst prior to the Al Nassr match.
Completing Mosimane's worst ever defeats are those he suffered at the hands of Orlando Pirates, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Bidvest Wits.
Take a look at Mosimane's five heaviest defeats below:
- Al Nassr 8 – 0 Abha Club
- Bloemfontein Celtic 5 – 0 Mamelodi Sundowns
- Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 4 – 1 Mamelodi Sundowns
- Al Ettifaq 4 – 1 Abha Club
- Bidvest Wits 3 – 0 Mamelodi Sundowns
