With interest from both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, Richards Bay FC have taken steps to tie down the club’s in-demand striker.
As previously reported by the Siya crew both Soweto giants are believed to have shown an interest in Yanela Mbuthuma, with indications that it would be a two-horse race for the player’s signature.

News reaching the Siya crew is that the striker has penned a long-term deal at the club, which will see the player remain at the KZN club, unless potential suitors are willing to break the bank for the 23-year-old.
Richards Bay United chairman Sifiso Jomo Biyela confirmed to the Siya crew that the striker has extended existing contract.
"Yes that's true. We are keeping Yanela at the club for a long time. Actually, he has extended his current contract for another three years which means it will run until June 2028. That's the situation with him right now," Biyela said, speaking to the Siya crew.
Indications are that both Pirates and Chiefs have not yet ruled out Mbuthuma as a potential addition.
"This could be a way of trying to make money out of the deal depending on which team fights to sign him. You know both Chiefs and Pirates are still interested in him and it will all depend on the offers these teams will table to Richards Bay at the end of the day," a source revealed to Soccer Laduma.
The forward has so far played 24 league games this season scoring on four occasions.
