Result: Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 Golden Arrows

Date: 16 November 2024

Venue: Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium

The Soweto giants were Nasreddine Nabi, who is back home while recovering from a minor orthopedic operation, as Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze took charge of the team.

The likes of Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Ashley du Preez and Zitha Kwinika were given starts in the Chiefs starting line-up while Tebogo Potsane and Mduduzi Mdantsane were on the bench.

Chiefs got the opening goal as early as the sixth minute, with young Mfundo Vilakazi finding the back of the net after getting on the end of Reeve Frosler's cross.

The Soweto giants managed to carve out a few chances in the opening 45 minutes, with Bradley Cross and Mmodi going close wit efforts in the box while Vilakazi was denied a second goal by Arrows goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede.

Chiefs opted for a double change at the start of the second half, with Happy Mashiane and Solomons brought on, while Arrowsintroduced Velemseni Ndwandwe, Olwethu Ncube and Nduduzo Sibiya to help change their fortunes.

However, it was Chiefs who got the second goal five minutes after the interval as birthday boy Nkosingiphile Ngcobo got his name on the score-sheet after pouncing on a defensive error in the Arrows box.
