With Pitso Mosimane to Kaizer Chiefs sentiment still holding relevance in the country, former Bafana Bafana defender Siboniso Gaxa, has hinted why things may not have worked out for Gavin Hunt at Amakhosi.
With the Glamour Boys still in the fringes of fighting to qualify for the top eight and with a handful of league matches to play, there is a section of fans and club legends who believe with Mosimane available, Amakhosi should pounce on the opportunity to get him in ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Soweto giants did exactly the same thing in 2020 when Hunt, also regarded as one of the best coaches in the country, became available after Bidvest Wits sold their status to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM).
Even though, however, Hunt came with the pedigree of four league titles under his belt (Mosimane has five league titles), the former SuperSport United coach could not live up to expectations at Chiefs.
Amakhosi definitely want a coach who is a winner but the character could matter, for a coach that eventually makes them successful, judging by two contrasting personalities of Hunt and Mosimane, as described by Gaxa.
"There's a massive (difference), they are not the same, completely different people. The mentality is different, Hunt wanted us to fight, he likes seeing players fighting, physically and on the pitch, because it brings the real you," Gaxa said on Apex Sports International YouTube Channel.

"At some point I fought with (Sibusiso) Mahlangu in the dressing room, throwing punches, Gavin was like 'Leave them alone! Let them fight!' Then he would say, 'Ja, I don't want sissies here, I wanna have fighters'.
"Pitso (in the same situation) would probably terminate your contract. Pitso hates that, he doesn't want people who are just gonna fight. What I liked about Gavin is he invoked the tough side of you. He strives with players who are rejected, even now. Pitso (on the other hand), wants the best (players). But they are all winners. What worked for Pitso in his early days is he wanted his team to be a family before football, he went to every players' household where they came from, then he knew what kind of players he dealt with. There was trust among the players," Gaxa revealed.
Should Chiefs not win the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby next weekend, the noise for Amakhosi to hire Mosimane will grow louder.
