After initiating a FIFA transfer ban on Polokwane City, former striker Khuda Muyaba remains without a club after facing similar financial issues with Syrian club Tishreen.
Muyaba joined Rise and Shine with a lot of expectation in January 2020 after he won the Golden Boot award with 21 goals in the Malawian Super League for Silver Strikers but he could not help City avoid relegation in the PSL.

The Malawian forward only made one substitute appearance for Polokwane in the top flight after he was signed but played a big role in their Motsepe Foundation Championship campaigns.
Muyaba netted seven goals for Rise and Shine from 16 starts and eight substitute appearances in the 2020/21 National First Division campaign and his impact continued to rise after scoring 15 goals in the following seasons and was the division's second-highest goalscorer.
However, the 29-year-old seemingly started experiencing financial problems at the club as he was owed salaries for several months, scoring only two goals in eight games in City's run to promotion last season before he left the club in March this year.
Muyaba terminated his contract with Polokwane and filed a complaint with FIFA, who have recently banned the Limpopo side from making any transfers after failure to pay salaries owed to the Malawian, according to reports.
The Flames forward was without a club after leaving City and was rumoured to be training with Royal AM during pre-season in July. However, the KwaZulu-Natal side was occupied with a FIFA transfer ban saga of their own, involving former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic.
And Muyaba eventually signed for Syrian club Tishreen in August this year but he did not stay for more than three months, as he experienced the same payment issues.
"They were failing to honour the contract obligations. I cannot proceed in such an environment. I'm travelling home and will see what God will provide," Muyaba was quoted as saying by Malawian sports publication The Nation after leaving Tishreen this month.
Muyaba was part of the Malawi squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as he made three starts and one substitute appearance. However, he lost his place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers squad under former Amakhosi captain Patrick Mabedi as he is currently without a club.
The 29-year-old joined City on a four-year contract reportedly worth R15 million in 2020 and scored 24 goals for the club before he left due to non-payment of salaries in March this year.
