Pirates Target Tipped To Return Before The End

City's Chief Operations Officer, Tincy Tema, shared an update with Soccer Laduma, expressing confidence that Matuludi's recovery is on track.

"The way things are looking now he could be back before the end of the season. We are just hoping that we don't rush him again. As long as we don't rush him he will be back before the end of the season. He is doing very well in rehab. We just made a mistake to rush him to do other things. I think if he followed his rehab very well he could have been back now. But we rushed him and he retrogressed. But for now I believe he will be back before the end of the season," Tema told Soccer Laduma.

Tema emphasized the importance of Matuludi's presence in the team as they aim to finish in the top four and earn qualification for CAF competitions.

"Who doesn't want to play in Africa? We know if we can finish in the top four then we can qualify for Africa and that's our target and that's why I am saying we need a player like Thabang to be in the team to help the other players fight together so that we can finish in the top four. Things are looking good for him and he could be back before the end of the season, " Tema told the Siya crew.

Before his injury, Matuludi had made many appearances this season, scoring goals too. Last season, he was equally influential, featuring in most games.

Polokwane City, affectionately known as 'Rise and Shine,' are currently in sixth position on the league table with 34 points.

Their next match will be against a high-flying Orlando Pirates team on Saturday at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. It's of course the very same team linked to Mataludi, and it remains to be seen if the Sea Robbers can eventually take more than three points from Polokwane.
