Brazilian baller Lucas Ribeiro Costa has enjoyed a season to remember in the Betway Premiership for Mamelodi Sundowns.

With 16 goals and nine assists to his name, it comes as no surprise that Ribeiro has made it to the final four of The Soccer Laduma Player of the Season (POTS) competition, reaching its most thrilling stage yet alongside Sundowns teammate Marcello Allende.

Joined by Orlando Pirates playmaker Relebohile Mofokeng and AmaZulu attacker Tshepang Moremi, these four incredible talents have helped define an enthralling Betway Prem season.

Ribeiro, who arrived at Chloorkop in 2023, heaped praise on his teammates, especially Marcello Allende, for helping him transition to life in Mzansi and learning how to speak English.

"Everyone was just amazing. They helped me adapt quickly, were very welcoming, and we've built a strong connection as a team," noted the PSL Player of the Season favourite.

"They especially helped me with learning English. When I arrived, I couldn't speak the language at all, but thanks to them, I've improved a lot. They've been instrumental in that journey. I feel truly lucky to be part of this group," said Ribeiro, adding that he enjoys sharing the same values as his teammates away from football.

"For me, it's not just about being a good footballer, I also want to be a good person off the pitch. I see those same values in my teammates, and that inspires me."
