With pressure on Orlando Pirates to give Relebohile Mofokeng their blessing to go abroad, club legend Benedict 'Tso' Vilakazi has revealed his concern if the 20-year-old remains for yet another season.
Ever since Mofokeng went on trial at English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, he has been linked with various overseas teams, particularly in Europe.

The Sharpeville native attacker, despite the club not yet finding the right suitor, has remained professional and actually improved his game, after being one of the leading Pirates players en route to the CAF Champions League semi-finals, MTN8 triumph, Nedbank Cup final and a second place finish in the Betway Premiership last season.
'The president' has been nominated in multiple categories for the delayed 2024/25 PSL awards, including the Players' Player of the Season and Footballer of the Season.
In addition, the transfer of Mohau Nkota to Saudi Arabia side Al Ettifaq has raised expectations for Mofokeng to follow suit, although The Buccaneers won't accept offers that don't their valuation.
Vilakazi has expressed his concerns, should the Soweto giants keep the 20-year-old for too long.
"Sometimes it's good to keep players but you don't have to keep them in a manner that they end up losing their value themselves, they always say too much of a thing is not good, it turns to be sour," Vilakazi said on omniaudioafrica YouTube Channel.
"I remember (Steve) Komphela used to say, 'When you've got milk in the fridge for a long period, it turns sour, does it mean you don't use it? That sourness becomes inkomazi (fermented milk), you won't pour it in a tea but you'll use it in pap, you'll still benefit'.

"It will give Pirates an open eye to say, 'we did find Mofokeng, we have an eye for quality players, we found Nkota, here is (Mbekezeli) Mbokazi, it shows they do have an eye. It says go back again Pirates, you can release 'president' and find somebody else, do what you do best, so it doesn't make us to say 'Oh Mofokeng is gone, it's gonna take us ten years (to replace him)'. No, it's not gonna take us ten years," the Pirates all-time leading goal-scorer added.
