In his update from camp, the Bucs goalkeeper coach stated he is preparing the likes of Sipho Chaine, Richard Ofori, Siyabonga Mpontshane, as well as new signing Melusi Buthelezi to be ready to compete in the new season.
"We're in day two and the first part was more of conditioning, the whole aspect of the goalkeepers for my perspective and working hand in hand with the conditioning coach is to see where we can obviously manage the goalkeepers within the session. But for the goalkeepers I'm quite happy with the endurance part but the strength part needs to be focused on the third day, which is the fourth day into the first week of our pre-season," said Damons, speaking through Pirates' media department.

That type of coach that creates programs specifically designed for the keepers. It's not apart from the infield players so you have to manipulate the other aspect of goalkeeping to introduce. So they have worked on a specific program with the emphasis to have that competition and to keep it at the highest level and most importantly to try and go as far as we want with the league – winning the league and obviously the Champions League," he said.
