With the arrival of Melusi Buthelezi at Orlando Pirates, there were reports by Soccer Laduma that the team could release two goalkeepers including Siyabonga Mpontshane.
Now, sources have indicated to the Siya crew that the former Platinum Stars stopper is expected to replace Buthelezi at his former club TS Galaxy.

Siya sources very close to both clubs have stated that Mpontshane, who is expected to be a free agent soon, as his contract expires on June 30, could link up with The Rockets.
The source believes that the deal does not involve Buthelezi's move from TS Galaxy to Pirates.
"As it stands now, it's almost a done deal. I can say it's over 80% done. The management and technical team have agreed that after losing Buthelezi, Mpontshane would be the right replacement or cover in that department," said the Siya source.
"No, it's not a swap deal or something like that. The Melusi (Buthelezi) deal was done and completed and this one is a separate one as it's between the player and the club.
"You should also remember that TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi used to be Mpontshane's agent before so they have that good working relationship which will help the move as well. But as I have said, talks are still going on but it's all looking good at the moment," the source concluded.
