The South African Police Service have provided details of the arrest of an Orlando Pirates official who is set to appear in court in the coming days.
During a Pirates home fixture against TS Galaxy in December, the visiting team's boss Tim Sukazi was allegedly denied access to the Orlando Stadium change rooms before his side's 2-0 loss against the Buccaneers.
A video of Sukazi being pushed by the Pirates security personnel went viral on social media, before it later emerged that Galaxy media officer Minenhle Mkhize was allegedly slapped in the face by a Pirates official in another scuffle that had ensued almost around the same time.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Orlando SAPS' Captain Nomvula Mbense confirmed that a common assault case has been opened against Bucs media officer Thandi Merafe for the Mkhize incident.
"They (TS Galaxy and Mkhize) opened a case of common assault and she (Merafe) was brought to the police station. It was a December case but I don't remember the date. She was released on bail, a free bail. The docket will be taken to court for decision on the 11th of January," confirmed Mbense.
