While indications are that experienced striker Ndumiso Mabena is in the plans of Orlando Pirates, the club is yet to make a decision on the future of player, ahead of the second half of the campaign.
For almost two months, Mabena has been training with the Buccaneers and indications are that the 35-year-old has impressed the team's head coach Jose Riveiro with his work-rate.

The veteran has been part of the preparations for matches at the Bucs and was part of the celebrations in Durban after the club won the MTN8, with sources indicating that a short-term deal may be on the cards for the player to make a return, in the same way Kermit Erasmus did after he left Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, with the league season set to get underway after the World Cup in Qatar, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Mabena at the Soweto giants, as the club has not yet officially communicated any plans for the attacker.

"Ndumiso Mabena has impressed at Pirates. The coach has been impressed and it's just a matter of the club communicating their plans for him," said the source.
The break will give Bucs enough time to make adjustments to the squad with some players expected to go on loan while others have been targeted, including Cameroonian sensation Souaibou Marou from Coton Sport FC.
