Bucs legend Albert "Bashin" Mahlangu says the positive start is due to the new signings the club added to the squad in the off season.
The former midfielder told Soccer Laduma that the team has started the season on the right foot and believes they will rise to reach their peak.
Mahlangu believes the new players have increased competition at Pirates which ultimately improves performances.
"The way we have started the season is the right way. I hope we can keep on picking up our level and reach our highest potential," Mahlangu told Soccer Laduma.
"We have enough players in the team to balance the squad. You see with the new signings the team has added value to the team which is good for competition.
"You know when a player is out injured or suspended he knows that it won't be easy for him to just come back into the first eleven or matchday squad.
"They have to fight for that position which then improves the whole team's performance. So, we signed well and it's helping the team," Mahlangu said.
The Bucs legend then shared his advice to the players and club to manage what will be a busy season.
"We should play each and every match as if it is the last one. Every game should be like a cup final for us. We should not lose focus.
"We should be focused from the first game until the last one whether we are playing in local competitions or even in Africa. Focus is the key for us to succeed and win trophies this season," Mahlangu told Soccer Laduma.
