Chippa Loan Move Possible For Bucs’ Makgopa

Chippa United are understood to be looking at bringing in Orlando Pirates striker Evidence Makgopa on a loan deal for next season. Makgopa's first season with the club was not so great, as he first struggled with injury and then having to fight for his place in the team with the likes of Terrence Dzvukamanja and Kermit Erasmus doing well in the team.

The 23-year-old made six appearances in all competitions after joining the Soweto giants from Baroka FC and there is a possibility that Pirates could bring in more players in attack, which will make the towering forward's chances of playing regularly even harder.

As things stand, the Buccaneers are open to loaning the player out for at least a season and, with age still on his side, they are understood to be feeling that he could still come back in future and make a mark. One of the clubs interested in getting Makgopa on board is Chippa, who face the possibility of losing striker Etiosa Ighodaro, who was on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Pirates are expected to make an announcement on Makgopa's next club in the near future. The Houghton-based outfit, meanwhile, still need to make a decision on striker Zakhele Lepasa, who was on loan to SuperSport United for the second half of the past season. Indications are that Lepasa will be at Matsatsantsa, where he has enjoyed a new lease on life under Gavin Hunt, for at least another season.
