You Choose The Team Of The Week

Soccer Laduma's 'Team of the Week' is a feature in each and every Soccer Laduma edition, highlighting the top performers from the Premier Soccer League clubs.

Selections are based on the performances of players in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup this past weekend.

Bidvest Wits secured their place in the last eight of the Nedbank Cup on Friday evening by walloping minnows Magesi FC 6-0. Daine Klate was the hero of the evening as he grabbed a double brace, with Sibusiso Vilakazi scoring the other goal. Magesi defender Oupa Seete scored an own goal for the home side.

Polokwane City beat favourites Platinum Stars 2-1 to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup. Diala Manaka and Carlington Nyadombo were the scorers for the Limpopo outfit, while Robert Ng'ambi scored for the home team.

Mpumalanga Black Aces continued their dominance over Maritzburg United as they won 2-0 at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit. Captain Collins Mbesuma and Limbikani Mzava scored for the home team with the visitors failing to retaliate.

Mamelodi Sundowns beat visitors Mbombela United 3-1. The goals came from Keagan Dolly, Cuthbert Malajila and Themba Zwane, while Zolani Nkombelo netted the visitors' consolation strike.

It was a tightly contested affair at the Athlone Stadium in a match between Santos and Free State Stars. The home team suffered a setback in the 90th minute as Iqranm Rayners scored for the visitors to book them a spot in the last eight.

Baroka FC continued to prove their doubters wrong as they beat Golden Arrows 2-0. Kenoshi Motshegwa and Loyiso Simandla were the scorers for the away team.

Orlando Pirates managed to beat Jomo Cosmos in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup on Sunday afternoon at the Olen Park Stadium. The away side made their intentions clear early in the match as they scored an early goal through Tendai Ndoro. Charlton Mashumba equalised with a wonderful curler for the home team. Amigo Memela got his name on the scoresheet, with Ndoro grabbing his brace later on.

The Soccer Laduma journos are currently in deliberation over this week's selections. In the meantime we want to hear from you as to who you think should be in the Soccer Laduma 'Team of the Week'.

Every Monday you will get the chance to post your 'Team of the Week'. See how close you get to the one which will appear in the new Soccer Laduma on Wednesday.
