Former Orlando Pirates, Steve Lekoelea, believes that, if Orlando Pirates can beat EC Bees by a big margin in today's Nedbank Cup Last 32 encounter that it could inspire the team to score more goals throughout the remainder of the season.
Tsotetsi: EC Bees Ready To Face Pirates
Pirates take on the ABC Motsepe League outfit this afternoon in a game where they are considered overwhelming favourites and Lekoelea has emphasised that Pirates need to seize the opportunity to regain some of their lost confidence this season, which has come as a result of a run where they have failed to win any of their last 12 games in all competitions.
"It's going to be a good game for the players, the new coach and for the whole of Orlando Pirates," he explained. "If they can score more than five in this game, they'll have more confidence to score in other games."
Sundowns And Pirates DC Postponed
When asked if he can draw any advice from the club's record 9-1 win over Olympics in the Bob Save Superbowl in 1999, Lekoelea, who was part of that team, said that there was no specific formula for that victory, except for the quality and confidence shown by the players on the day.
"There was no secret to that win. It was just a normal game. We just had all the control, there were no special tactics and we just had control as players and we respected them," he added. "We had good players that were playing very well."
Do you think Pirates can win by a big margin today?
