Golden Arrows crushed Maritzburg United 3-1 at the Princess Magogo Stadium to advance to Nedbank Cup last 16.

The game started with calm build ups from Golden Arrows, while Maritzburg set their stall by sitting deep it was clear early on.

After 10 minutes, Lerato Lamola nearly opened the scoring for Golden Arrows after being setup by Kudakwashe Mahachi inside the box but his effort sailed narrowly missed wide.

Sibusiso Sibeko put Arrows ahead with a towering header, following a free- kick floated beautifully inside the box by Nduduzo Sibaya.

The home side doubled their advantage in the 31st minute. Lamola was put on through by Nkanyiso Mngwengwe, before volleying into the bottom corner.

Clinton Larsen's charges were not done there, as Kudakwashe Mahachi grabbed the home side's third goal with a composed finish into the bottom corner.

The match went into the break with Golden Arrows three goals to the good without conceding.

Clinton Larsen would have been pleased with the first half performance from his boys. They converted their chances and should be cruising in the second-half.
