Polokwane City crashed out of the Nedbank Cup after suffering a 2-1 defeat to National First Division outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM).
Rise and Shine were looking to improve on last season's showing after they lost to National First Division outfit Ubuntu Cape Town at the stage, whiel TTM were making their debut in the Nedbank Cup.
The Absa Premiership outfit dominated possession in the early stages but were unable to carve out a clear opening against their Limpopo neighbours. The opening goal eventually arrived on 29 minutes through Mohammed Anas, who rounded the TTM goalkeeper before slotting into the back of the net. The visitors, who had lost their last three games, were unable to claw their way back into the encounter and went into the halftime break Eleven minutes into the second half, TTM were were level thanks to a strike from former Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United striker Edward Manqele. Rise and Shine responded with a change on 64 minutes as the influential Jabulani Maluleke replaced Sammy Seabi as they looked to regain the lead. However, the NFD outfit secured the winning goal with four minutes remaining thanks to Manqele's second goal of the contest to secure their spot in the last 16.
