Nedbank Cup Last 32 Report: FC Cape Town v Baroka 11 March 2017

Result: FC Cape Town 0-2 Baroka

Baroka FC ended their 15-game winless run in all competitions, after recording a 2-0 victory over NFD outfit, FC Cape Town in their Nedbank Cup Last 32 tie.

Neither side could carve out any openings in the first 15 minutes on very dry pitch at the NKK Stadium.

The same trend continued as the half went on, although Baroka did hit the woodwork just before the 30-minute mark.

That proved to be the only chance of the half, as the sides went into the halftime break with the score locked at 0-0.

However, the Absa Premiership side were award a penalty in the 52nd minute when Richard Matloga was fouled in the box. Phineas Ravhuvali stepped up and converted the spot kick to hand Baroka the lead.

Bakgaga were awarded another penalty after the hour-mark. Ravhuvali stepped again, but had his spot-kick saved by Buti Khoza.

However, the visitors eventually doubled their lead in the 72nd minute, as Matloga fired past Khoza to make it 2-0.

The Mother City outfit failed to carve out chances in the closing stages of the second half, as Baroka held on for the victory.

Jomo Cosmos booked their spot in the next round, after recording a 3-0 win over United Rovers on Saturday afternoon,

Wiseman Maluleke opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute, before he completed his brace in the 61st minute. 

While, Matsilela Sono sealed the victory and passage into the last 16 with a free-kick in the 72nd minute.
