MacDonald Makhubedu Disappointed With Result Against Kaizer Chiefs

Baroka FC coach Donald Makhubedu couldn't hide his disappointment after seeing his side go down 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in Port Elizabeth.

The defeat saw them bow out of the Nedbank Cup after Erick Mathoho's solitary goal earlier in the first half.

"I'm very disappointed we wanted to kill it off in the first half. We missed chances, but inexperience costs us. But as I said Chiefs, these days they are stubborn especially at the back," Komphela told SuperSport after the game.

"They have got three experience guys there and are playing in front of them is doing his job right. They played well, but our boys just messed it up.

"We had the same game-plan. We wanted to absorb the first 20 minutes, they did the same and we pounced on that but didn't score the goals."

The experience of the Amakhosi, least in cup games came to the fore, while the penalty awarded on the stroke of halftime was spot-on as Leonardo Castro was clever in winning it.

"We missed many chances. I think the experience of Chiefs was too much for us today. Good luck to them. They needed this. They have been doing well and were unlucky in some games.

"They scored one and closed shop. Games like this nowadays are won on set-pieces. I think the ref did well as well. Their penalty was a clear penalty. Castro was very clever there. He got Banda on his weak side.

"That's what we should've done with Teenage Hadebe, get him on his weaker side, but there was no doubt from where I was sitting it was a penalty," he said.
