Following their win in a 4-2 penalty shootout over Ubuntu Cape Town at Athlone Stadium on Saturday, Ea Lla Koto advanced to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup competition.

With Chiefs also securing a 1-0 win in their game against Baroka FC at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at the weekend, the Soweto giants are one of the four teams vying for the trophy.

The semi-final draw took place after the Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City game on Sunday afternoon and Chiefs have been drawn to face Stars.

Stars head coach, Luc Eymael, says he is sad about the draw.

"It's sad that we are going to Chiefs. For Chiefs, it will be four games playing at home in this cup. But it's okay. We say it's a coincidence. I prefer to say that than to say other words. We have to take it one game at a time like I have been saying. We have to focus on the (league) game against Chiefs on Wednesday," said Eymael.

So far in the prestigious cup competition, Chiefs played and won at home against Golden Arrows, Stellenbosch FC and Baroka.

However, games against Stellenbosch FC and Baroka were played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium respectively.

The only home game for Stars in the Nedbank Cup was against Chippa United in the Last 16 stage of the competition.
