Lets Take A Look At The First Ever Nedbank Cup Competition
This year we celebrate 10 years of the Nedbank Cup in South Africa and while Mamelodi Sundowns are already out this year, they were the first club to lift it.    Read: Nedbank Cup Quarterfinal Details   It was at Johannesburg Stadium in Doornfontein that Masandawana became the first team to get their hands on the new Nedbank Cup trophy, with Lerato Chabangu proving to be the difference as he bagged a late winning goal.
The former Bafana Bafana international killed Mpumalalanga Black Aces' hopes of a giant-killing, however, the NFD side didn't leave empty handed as Vusiwe Masondo won Player of the Tournament and Thabang Rooi picked up the Most Promising Player Award.   Orlando Pirates were on the back of a shock defeat in the first round against NFD side, Santos, while Kaizer Chiefs beat the reigning champions, Ajax Cape Town, but only made it as far as the Round of 16 before they were booted out by Masandawana.   It was this year's edition of the tournament that saw one of the biggest scorelines in PSL history as AmaZulu smashed Vodacom League outfit, Young Boys, by a whopping 14-0 scoreline, however, they too went on to be knocked out by the eventual champions.    SL Radio
