Kaizer Chiefs To Welcome Back Two Key Players

Kaizer Chiefs To Welcome Back Two Key Players

Ernst Middendorp revealed that two of his first team players are likely to return to action this weekend.

The Kaizer Chiefs head coach welcomed the return of Ramahlwe Mphahlele, who has been out of action since the beginning of December last year, with Middendorp revealing that the right-back is likely to be part of his squad this weekend.

In addition, the German head coach confirmed that Philani Zulu will also make his way back into the setup.

Zulu has been out of action since early January with a facial fracture, although the Chiefs head coach confirmed that the player has resumed full training and could be given a run-out this weekend.

Chiefs will face Tornado FC in the first round of the Nedbank Cup competition on Sunday, January 27.

Despite having some players return from injury, Chiefs will still be without Lebogang Manyama who could be ruled out for the rest of the season, while there is still uncertainty surrounding George Maluleka.

"We had a little bit of a question mark at training with George Maluleka, it's a little bit in and out and we are not 100% sure," Middendorp told the media.

"He has an appointment this evening at five o'clock so we'll know a little bit more.

"The other players we are really happy to see them back is, of course, Rama (Ramahlwe Mphahlele) who played in the Diski team on Saturday, he definitely will be part of the squad - my plan is definitely a 45-minute's run.

"Philani Zulu also started training on Tuesday, he will also be a member of the squad," the head coach added.
