Kaizer Chiefs Have Taken Their Nedbank Cup QF To Port Elizabeth

Kaizer Chiefs

It has been confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs won't be playing their Nedbank Cup quarter-final in Soweto later this month.

The Amakhosi still have a mathematical shot at winning the Absa Premiership, however, given the seven-point gap between themselves and the log leaders, the Nedbank is probably their best chance of breaking their trophy drought.

Chiefs haven't won any silverware since Steve Komphela took over at the club, and with his contract expiring shortly, the club will be eager for him to persuade them that he is deserving of a new deal.

With that in mind, the Amakhosi have decided to take their quarter-final to Port Elizabeth, no doubt hoping for a bumper crowd at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to cheer them on as they go up against Baroka FC.

The game is set to take place on March 31st at 20h15, with both teams aiming for a spot in the last four of the competition.

It was at this stage last year that Chiefs were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup – by SuperSport United via a penalty shootout – and they will be keen to progress further in this year's edition.

Chiefs have a week left to prepare for the game, and recently welcomed the likes of George Maluleka, Tsepo Masilela and Emmanuel Letlotlo back to training after their respective injuries.

The Glamour Boys haven't won the Nedbank since Stuart Baxter's debut season in 2012/13.
