Bernard Parker Expects Kaizer Chiefs To Win In The Nedbank Cup

Bernard Parker

Bernard Parker is insistent that Kaizer Chiefs' 'quality will take over' when they take on Tornado FC in the Nedbank Cup this weekend.   Read: 'Beating Chiefs' Record? I'd Rather Win The League...'   The Glamour Boys will be looking to book their spot in the next round of the competition when they go up against the ABC Motsepe League side on Sunday afternoon, although will be wary of the potential banana skin that they're facing.    This tournament is one known for its giant-killings over the years – of which Chiefs have been a victim – and Ernst Middendorp will want to make sure that they get the job done as they look to get back to winning ways.    Speaking to the club's official website about their opponents, Parker said, "Tornado will run at us, trying to get us out of position. We have to play our game, keeping our structure. If we do that, our quality will take over…    "Even when we play a friendly against an ABC Motsepe League side, they come out with a lot of energy, with the players looking to impress our technical staff to get scouted. For them, it's the game of their lives to play against Kaizer Chiefs. However, that's something we are used to, every team wants to beat Amakhosi."    Parker, who last scored in the Nedbank against Golden Arrows in the 2017/18 edition, thinks that this game could be a building block for better things from the Glamour Boys.    He added, "We have played at that stadium against Chippa United, it's a wide and big pitch, almost similar in size to the one at FNB Stadium, which suits us well.    "The longer the game goes on, the more chances will come our way. Accordingly, we need to convert those goalscoring opportunities. It's important to get on the front foot. We are looking at winning this game with a good margin, which will lay a good foundation for the following games."
