Talking to the public yesterday, Wright, who plied his trade for the likes of the Gunners, Crystal Palace and Burnley, explained why he thinks it is important for clubs to engage with the fans.
"For the Soweto derby, I was so excited, I have seen so many derbies across the world, but when they invited me for this one, simply because the fans have the opportunity to make the changes in the Carling Cup.
Choose the captain, choose the substitutions, choose everything, it is so much power," Wright said.
"This wouldn't happen in England, they're too scared about the power of the fans," he added.
