The 2013/14 Absa Premiership Player of the Season has been linked with a move away from the Clever Boys over the last few transfer windows and despite vast reported domestic and international interest, nothing has materialised.
Since debuting as a 20-year-old for the Students in 2010, Vilakazi has seen his career enjoy an upward climb, which has culminated in him winning the best player at the PSL awards, as well as becoming a regular in the Bafana Bafana set-up.
Three years after debuting in the top-tier of South African football, Vila as the player is affectionately known arguable reached his zenith, when he won the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament, the Players' Player of the Season and above all, the Footballer of the Season award.
Vilakazi has not had the best of times in recent months, having started in just three league games since their match against Chippa United in early January.
During that time he has made six appearances from the bench, before suffering a knee injury in the CAF Confederation Cup which put him on the sidelines.
Despite the recent injury set-backs and lack of game-time, Vila's signature remains one of the most sought after in the PSL.
