While it is a historic moment for women's football in South Africa, head coach Ellis explained that credit must be given to the collective effort by the entire eam.
"It was an agonizing decision, I haven't slept for days, I wanted to make sure that I get it right and I also wanted to think about the future," Ellis told the media.
"It's never been about me alone, it's always been about the team as a whole, because we cannot do without each other, yes I make the final selection and the final announcement, my decisions, but I have a technical team, I have a support staff and the players and without them we wouldn't be here.
"So, for us, it is a collective and for everyone, the whole of South Africa, it's a historic moment," she said.
