MTN8 Report: Bidvest Wits 3-1 SuperSport United 4 August 2015
MTN8 - Quarterfinals   Result: Bidvest Wits 3-1 SuperSport United (AET)   Date: 4 August 2015   Venue: Bidvest Stadium   Bidvest Wits netted two extra-time goals to claim a 3-1 in over SuperSport United on Tuesday night.   The Cleverboys wasted little time as they took the lead only three minutes into the game. Sibusiso Vilakazi was the man who found the back of the net after great interplay between Elias Pelembe and Henrico Botes set it up.   Wits were almost two goals clear in the 10th minute when Botes was once again in the thick of things, setting it up for Daine Klate, but he couldn't score against his former club.   Matsatsantsa had a good opportunity to level matters on the half-hour mark, but Boxall's headed effort went over the bar.   SuperSport continued to put some pressure on the Wits goal five minutes later as Phala tried his luck. Moeneeb Josephs, however, was up to the task.   United found their way back into the game in the 56th minute when Jeremy Brockie slotted the equaliser after the timely assist came in from Dove Wome.    In the last 15 minutes, Wits came close to restoring their lead as Pelembe hit the woodwork with his attempt at goal.   The hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 78th minute as Thulani Hlatshwayo was shown his second yellow card.   SuperSport were also down to ten men in stoppage time after Nkhatha was shown two yellow cards in quick succession.   Extra time was dominated by Wits who scored twice to secure a 3-1 victory. Nhlapo crossed for Klate in the 97th minute and he headed home before a swerving shot from Botes beat Williams to claim the win in the 101st minute.   Here's how they lined up:    Wits: Josephs, Nhlapo, Hlatshwayo, Mkhwanazi, Ntshangase, Bhasera, Pelembe, Shongwe, Klate, Vilakazi, Botes    SuperSport: Williams, Boxall, B.Khumalo, S. Khumalo, Morton, Nel, Phala, Manyama, Wome, Grobler, Brockie
