After receiving the 'man of the match' award following Ajax Cape Town's 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in a MTN8 quarterfinal match at Orlando Stadium on Tuesdat night, Granwald Scott complimented his side for their team effort.
"I think the team did a fantastic job tonight," said Scott.
"The team work, the team effort, the collective work we put in together as a team paid off.
"It was fantastic – big ups to my team and well done for progressing to the next round of the MTN8."
Scott admitted that his side were not at their best on the night and perhaps needed to work a bit on their fitness, but nonetheless was happy with their preseason.
"We did quite well in preseason, most of our games we won, some we drew, but our test was tonight and we showed character, so I think our preseason went well," added Scott.
"The boys are not there yet, we were struggling a little bit tonight after the 60th minute, but we can only grow from here."
Ndiviwe Mdabuka scored the only goal of the game and Scott was full of praise for him and the other new signings that have joined the Urban Warriors.
"Ndiviwe (Mdabuka) did well tonight, he scored on debut, even Prince (Nxumalo) and Ruzaigh (Gamildien), all of them contributed to the win – they were all great additions to the squad," concluded the midfielder.
