Chiefs saw most of the ball in the opening exchanges and created a couple of chances, with Mandla Masango forcing Senzo Meyiwa into a fine save in the 10th minute. However, Pirates almost took the lead in the 21st minute, Brilliant Khuzwayo pulled off a fine save to keep out Oupa Manyisa's close range effort. Minutes later and Chiefs went ahead, as some poor defending by the Pirates backline saw Tefu Mashamaite head into the bottom corner unchallenged. Khuzwayo came to Chiefs' rescue in the 52nd minute, he got down well to keep out Kermit Erasmus' stinging effort from the edge of the area. The Chiefs shot-stopper was proving to be the busier of the two goalkeepers, this time parrying Majoro's close range effort out for a corner. Bernard Parker almost doubled Chiefs' lead in the 85th minute, the striker did well to evade his marker before firing at Meyiwa, who managed to palm the effort away. Khuzwayo was proving to be real match winner for AmaKhosi, as he denied Erasmus from the edge of the area once again. However, Chiefs' defence held on and were crowned MTN8 Champions, with Khuzwayo the Man of the Match.
