A first half header from Tefu Mashamaite was enough to see Chiefs claim the beat their Soweto rivals to claim the MTN8 trophy and the injured shot-stopper says the fans deserved the win.
"All those people (supporters) up there, they deserve the victory," Khune said after the game.
"They've been with us through thick and thin, last season we made a promise to them, because we didn't win any silverware, at the beginning of this tournament I made a promise to them that we will try by all means to sweep everything on offer and this is the beginning of good things to come.
Khune also believes Brilliant Khuzwayo's hard work has paid and he showed the country what he is capable of.
"I Think he's been working hard, he been patient because I've also been doing well for the team and his been waiting for his opportunity, he got it tonight and he showed what a great goalkeeper he is and what he can offer South African football in the near future." he added.
