Swallows will be seeking to redeem themselves when they host Royal AM in a Nedbank Cup last 16 clash on Friday evening.
Teams: Swallows v Royal AM
Date: 11 March 202
Venue: Dobsonville Stadium
Time: 18h00
The Birds are still smarting from the 1-0 defeat to Royal AM in the league this past Sunday, after Elias Pelembe snatched a last-gasp winner to hand Thwihli Thwahla all three points.
Swallows, however, got to this stage of the tournament after coming from behind to beat GladAfrica Championship side TS Sporting 2-1 courtesy of second-half goals by Yagan Sasman and Ruzaigh Gamildien.
The Birds have won this tournament under the current sponsors once in 2009, while coach Dylan Kerr won it with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (now Marumo Gallants) last season.
Royal AM, meanwhile, will be hoping their form puts them in good stead, as they have won three more league matches since beating Cape Town 2-1 in the round of 32.
John Maduka's charges also came from behind to knock out the Citizens thanks to an own goal by Relebogile Mokhuoane and a goal by Lantshene Phalane, both in the second stanza.
