Teams: Mbombela United v Cape Town City
Date: 09 February 2020
Venue: Kanyamazane Stadium
Cape Town City will put their inconsistent Absa Premiership campaign aside when they visit Mbombela United in the Nedbank Cup last 32 on Sunday afternoon.
The match is set to kickstart at 15h00.
Jan Olde Riekerink's charges saw their two-game winning run come to an end after being held to a 1-1 draw by Maritzburg United just over a week ago.
City have won both the Telkom Knockout and the MTN8 since their inception in 2016 but they are yet to capture the Nedbank Cup.
Last season, the Cape Town side reached the quarter-finals of the competition but they were knocked out by eventual finalists Kaizer Chiefs.
On the other hand, United are languishing in second-from-bottom spot in the GladAfrica Championship with 18 points from 20 matches and are in danger of being relegated to the ABC Motsepe League.
United reached the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup last season before being dumped out by Cape Umoya United on penalties.
The second tier outfit might fancy themselves as City will be without Kermit Erasmus, who set for a spell on the sideline with injury.
