A new era begins at Mamelodi Sundowns who host Bloemfontein Celtic in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Sunday evening at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Manqoba Mngqithi and Rhulani Mokwena were appointed as co-coaches after the departure of Pitso Mosimane to Egyptian giants Al Ahly while Steve Komphela was also added to their technical team as a 'senior coach'.
The MTN8 was the only title Mosimane did not manage to win in his trophy-laden stay at the Brazilians, in fact the Tshwane giants have not won the top eight trophies since it has been sponsored by MTN, with their last triumph in this competition coming way back in 2007 while it was still known as the SAA Super 8.
The Brazilians will be facing a team that will be plotting revenge, as Celtic's loss to Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final last month could still be fresh on their memory.
To add to the subplot, Masandwana knocked out Siwelele in the same round of this competition last season with a 3-1 victory.
Celtic have also not won the MTN8 in its current guise, with their only triumph coming way back in 2005 when the tournament was still sponsored by SAA.
